"Responding to the need that is out there"

A message from our Director -- Wanda Hines

The Joint Urban Ministry Project (JUMP), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has been a resource for over 32 years for economically disadvantaged people in Vermont in search of essential basic needs and assistance to gain independence to help themselves.  JUMP has been supported by local faith communities as well as some grant funding, local businesses, individual donors, volunteers and committed leadership, however this past year the Covid epidemic has significantly increased the needs of people in our community, while decreasing fundraising capability. JUMP’s services are provided to those living below the Federal Poverty Guidelines with compassion and without discrimination or judgement to all ages, including the unemployed/ underemployed, homeless, victims of domestic abuse, the formerly incarcerated, those living with physical/mental disabilities, those living in recovered or presently suffering with substance abuse and those living paycheck to paycheck.  JUMP’s services not only help to meet immediate needs but also contribute to preventing homelessness and assisting in promoting independent living.
